Overview

These calculators cover the Dutch tax and pay questions that come up most: what a gross salary is worth after wage tax, how the 30% ruling changes it, what a freelancer keeps, how box 3 taxes savings and what a company car costs in bijtelling. All of them use the 2026 parameters.

Where to start

Employees should begin with the Netherlands Salary Calculator. Expats on a recruitment package can then run the 30% Ruling Calculator. Freelancers should go straight to the ZZP Calculator. If you own savings or shares, the Box 3 Calculator shows the wealth tax, and anyone leaving a job can use the Transitievergoeding Calculator.

The Dutch system looks complicated because it layers three things: progressive box 1 rates that already contain national insurance, two tax credits that phase out as income rises, and separate regimes for entrepreneurs and wealth. Each page explains the layer it deals with in plain terms.

Frequently asked questions

Which tax year do these calculators use?+

All of them apply the 2026 Dutch rates and thresholds, and each page lists the exact figures.

Are Dutch salaries taxed per month or per year?+

Wage tax is withheld per payslip, but the rates and credits are annual, so the calculators work on a yearly basis and divide by 12.

Do I need a tax advisor?+

For straightforward employment income the estimates are usually enough. For a BV, foreign income or a ruling application, talk to an adviser.
